Two international trade attorneys at Wiley were elevated to partner, the firm announced Dec. 11: Elizabeth Lee, former associate in the international trade practice, and Enbar Toledano, former of counsel in the litigation practice. Lee covers trade remedy proceedings, while Toledano litigates appeals of administrative trade decisions, among other things. Their new status is effective Jan. 1.
Jared Cynamon, a former trade attorney at the Commerce Department, has joined Sandler Travis as an associate, according to the law firm and Cyanmon's LinkedIn page. Cynamon spent the past four years at Commerce, where he reviewed antidumping and countervailing duty determinations.
Pete Jeydel, a former lawyer with Steptoe, has joined Troutman Pepper as a partner to lead the sanctions and trade controls practice, the firm announced. Jeydel's practice centers on export controls and sanctions and "related areas" such as the new outbound investment security program, the firm said.
Jeremy Paner, a former sanctions investigator for the Office of Foreign Assets Control, has joined Hughes Hubbard as a partner in its sanctions, export controls and anti-money laundering practice, the firm announced. Paner worked at OFAC from 2007 to 2013 and was most recently with Squire Patton.
Christopher Stagg, an export controls lawyer and former senior official with the State Department's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, has joined Holland & Knight as a partner, the law firm announced. Stagg previously ran his own firm, Stagg PLLC.
Stephanie Connor, former assistant chief counsel at the Office of Foreign Assets Control, is starting a new position as assistant director of OFAC's policy division, she announced on LinkedIn. Connor joined OFAC in 2022.
Laura Perkins, former assistant chief of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Unit at DOJ, has joined Cadwalader Wickersham as a partner, the firm announced. Perkins worked at DOJ from 2007 to 2015 and was most recently a lawyer with Hughes Hubbard.
Maliha Khan, a former Commerce Department compliance analyst, has joined Schagrin Associates as an associate attorney, the firm announced. Khan worked as an international trade compliance analyst in Commerce's International Trade Administration from 2016 to 2020, then joined Kelley Drye as a trade attorney.
Hendricks Valenzuela, a U.S. trade attorney, has been promoted to senior attorney in the Commerce Department's Office of the Chief Counsel for Trade Enforcement and Compliance, he said on LinkedIn. Valenzuela joined the agency in 2020 as an attorney.
Erik Woodhouse, a former senior sanctions official with the State Department, has returned to Crowell & Moring, the firm announced this week. Woodhouse left the State Department in July after serving as deputy assistant secretary for counter threat finance and sanctions and leading the agency's Office of Sanctions Coordination (see 2407310003). His practice will focus on sanctions compliance and issues related to the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering rules and regulations.
