EU Appoints 13 Judges to Its General Court
The Council of the EU on March 26 appointed 13 judges to the EU General Court. Two of the judges, Francesco Bestagno of Italy and Tanja Pavelin of Croatia, have been appointed to their first terms, while nine others saw their terms renewed.

The renewed judges are Herve Cassagnabere and Laurent Truchot of France; David Petrlik and Petra Skvarilova-Pelzl of Czechia; Inga Reine and Peteris Zilgalvis of Latvia; Saulius Lukas Kaleda of Lithuania; Ulf Oberg of Sweden; and Tamara Perisin of Croatia.
In addition, Danute Jociene of Lithuania was appointed as a replacement for Rimvydas Norkus, who was named advocate-general to the Court of Justice, and Jorgen Hettne of Sweden was appointed to replace Fredrik Schalin, who became an EU Court of Justice judge.
