The Bristol Group is pleased to announce the addition of Scott D McBride as Counsel, bringing with him over 25 years of distinguished service in #InternationalTradeLaw, particularly in #antidumping (AD) and #countervailing duty (CVD) matters.  Scott joined the firm in 2025 after retiring from the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he most recently served as Associate Deputy Chief Counsel in the Office of the Chief Counsel for Trade Enforcement and Compliance. During his tenure at Commerce, Mr. McBride played a critical role in shaping U.S. trade remedy regulations. He managed the development and drafting of dozens of AD and CVD regulations, authored hundreds of pages of accompanying preambles, and led cross-functional teams of attorneys, analysts, and policymakers.  He also supervised numerous attorneys and oversaw the legal review of thousands of agency documents. “We are excited to welcome Scott to The Bristol Group. His deep expertise and decades of service to the international trade community will be invaluable to our clients and colleagues alike” – said Adam Gordon, Managing Partner, The Bristol Group PLLC Mr. McBride has extensive litigation experience before the U.S. Court of International Trade, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, NAFTA Dispute Panels, and World Trade Organization (WTO) Panels and Appellate Body. He was instrumental in negotiating the 2016 Softwood Lumber Settlement Agreement and served for a decade on the bilateral Canada/U.S. Softwood Lumber Committee. Mr. McBride also represented #Commerce in the interagency Trade Policy Staff Committee, and collaborated frequently with Customs and Border Protection, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, and the International Trade Commission on complex legal issues. A recognized authority on circumvention proceedings, scope inquiries, new shipper reviews, particular market situations, and nonmarket economy cases, Mr. McBride has also assisted with on-site verifications worldwide.  He has spoken on trade law topics in India, Peru, and at WTO forums, and has regularly appeared on expert panels in the U.S., including the CIT Trade Conference and the Georgetown University International Trade Law Update.
