I am happy to let you know that I have launched a solo law practice, the Law Office of Charles Steele (www.steelelawdc.com). I will focus primarily on U.S. economic sanctions matters, including counseling, compliance advice, license applications, enforcement matters, and delisting petitions. I will also do some other work with national security and enforcement elements, including certain AML/CFT and CFIUS matters. I have received several requests for legal advice and representation over the past couple of years but could not accept them because I have been working in a non-lawyer capacity at Forensic Risk Alliance, a fantastic US- and UK-based forensic consulting firm. The new law practice will enable me to take on such work, and to help fellow lawyers and their clients navigate legal challenges in today’s difficult sanctions and national security environments. Separate from the new law practice I am remaining at FRA (www.forensicrisk.com), where my colleagues and I provide non-legal forensic consulting services in connection with investigations, monitorships, and disputes, across a broad range of subject matters that includes economic sanctions and AML. If I can help you in either capacity, or if you would like to be connected with any of my FRA colleagues, please feel free to reach out.
Wow! This will be great for clients who need expertise in your areas of focus. Congrats

10moDid I clear you to do this? You realize, of course, that any report you prepare is likely to be called the Steele Dossier. Hmm. Best of luck (and hard work)in this new adventure, Charlie! P.S. Carlton is correct!
