Q2 broadcast earnings: Belo Corp.’s sale gained 2.1 percent from a year earlier to $166.4 million. Profit sank 7 percent on higher salaries and station programming costs … Entravision sales fell 6 percent from a year earlier to $50.26 million and it swung to a $352,000 net loss from a $6.96 million gain a year earlier. “We faced challenging comparisons to last year’s second quarter, when we benefited from the World Cup, political and census advertising revenue,” said CEO Walter Ulloa … Radio One’s sales gained 29 percent from a year earlier to $97.1 million as it began consolidating results from its stake in TV One. Radio sales now make up about 62 percent of Radio One’s overall revenue, CEO Alfred Liggins said. Profit jumped to $101.2 million from $2.5 million a year earlier on a one-time gain on its investment in TV One. Liggins said he expects radio sales for Q3 to remain flat and the company will continue to work on developing other revenue streams.
