US Sanctions Groups With Ties to ICC Investigations of Israelis
The U.S. this week sanctioned Al Haq, Al Mezan Center for Human Rights and the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights for aiding efforts by the International Criminal Court to investigate, arrest, detain or prosecute Israeli nationals for alleged human rights violations in Gaza.

The State Department said the three groups are supporting the ICC's "politicized agenda, overreach, and disregard for the sovereignty of the U.S." through its investigation of war crimes. "The ongoing actions of the ICC set a dangerous precedent for all nations and we will actively oppose actions that threaten our national interests and infringe on the sovereignty of the United States and our allies, including Israel."
The Office of Foreign Assets Control issued new General License No. 10 that authorizes certain wind-down transactions with those three groups, and any entity they own by 50% or more, through 12:01 a.m. ET Oct. 4.
