UScellular Answers FCC's Questions on Lifeline Customers
UScellular provided answers to the FCC Wireline Bureau's questions on eligible telecom carrier (ETC) issues after closing its sale of spectrum, customers and other assets to T-Mobile. The filing was posted Monday in docket 09-197 but dated Saturday, the day after the bureau approved the deal (see 2507110045).

After closing, T-Mobile, through its Assurance Wireless brand, “plans to contact each of these customers regarding their options going forward,” the filing said. “For qualified UScellular Lifeline customers located within T-Mobile’s ETC-designated service area, this includes the option to migrate to Assurance Wireless.” After closing, all UScellular Lifeline customers “will continue on their current plans” and “will not need to take any action in order for that to occur.”
