FCC Seeks Comment on ClearCaptions' Waiver Requests
The FCC Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau sought comment Tuesday on two petitions from ClearCaptions seeking waivers to rules for the IP-captioned telephone service (IP CTS) and the telecommunications relay service (TRS) fund. The company provides IP CTS that's supported by the fund. Comments are due June 19, replies July 7, in docket 03-123.

In its first petition, “ClearCaptions seeks limited waiver of the Commission’s rules with respect to a set of its IP CTS user records that became incorrect due to ‘data corruption issues,’” the bureau said. In the second, it wants “limited waiver of the Commission’s rule requiring a TRS provider to submit to the TRS Fund administrator (and retain for five years) call detail records regarding the calls for which they request compensation from the Fund.”
