UK Unveils Fines Against 3 Exporters for Illegal Military Exports

The U.K. recently fined three companies more than $4.7 million combined for breaching the country’s export controls on military goods, the country announced April 9.

One company was fined about $4 million, another was fined about $550,000 and a third was penalized about $14,000. The U.K.’s Export Control Joint Unit said each of the companies violated license requirements outlined in the country's Export Control Order of 2008. All three firms reached settlements with the U.K. between January and March. The country didn't release more information about the penalties.
