Australia Issues Largest Russia Sanctions Package Since 2022
Australia this week issued another round of Russia-related sanctions, following similar moves by the EU, the U.K. and Canada to mark three years since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The designations include financial sanctions against 79 entities as well as judges, prosecutors and other people “propping up Russia's illegal administrations in eastern Ukraine and Crimea.” Other sanctions target people and entities associated with an increase in military cooperation between Russia and North Korea, and Australia also said it tightened its trade restrictions on commercial drones and components, “including the provision of related services,” involving Russia.
The measures represent the country’s “largest sanctions package since February 2022,” it said.
