Rubio Asks for Pharma Companies to Go on UFLPA Entity List
Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., wrote to FDA Commissioner Robert Califf and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, arguing that CBP is not enforcing the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act he co-authored, as pharmaceuticals made in Xinjiang are entering the U.S.

Rubio, who cited a recent C4ADS report (see 2410090031), noted that the FDA has authorized two Xinjiang companies that make pharmaceutical ingredients or medicines to export to the U.S. "This is in clear violation of current law which prohibits imports from the region," he wrote.
He asked for the UFLPA-established Forced Labor Enforcement Task Force to immediately add Nuziline Bio-Pharmaceutical Co. and SEL Biochem Xinjiang Co. to the UFLPA Entity List.
"I also ask that the FDA and DHS complete a thorough review of every company authorized to distribute pharmaceuticals and API in the United States to ensure compliance with the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act," he wrote.
