Biden Admin Committed to Stemming Illegal Gun Exports to Haiti, Spokesperson Says
The Biden administration is “strongly committed to combating the illegal transit of firearms to Hait through multiple initiatives,” a National Security Council spokesperson said late Sept. 27.

Those initiatives include supporting Haitian partners on weapons interdiction and criminal investigations, and building their capacity to trace illicit gun purchases to identify who sold them, the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson’s comments came after more than 60 congressional Democrats in a letter last week urged the administration to take more steps to stem the flow of American guns into Haiti (see 2409270057).
