CBP said the change will allow filers to “provide additional optional metadata” when submitting the document label code of “Vehicle Title Certificates,” including: the vehicle identification number (VIN), the product identification number (PIN), and the point of contact (POC) name, email address and phone number. The agency also said the Document Image System will remind filers to include a VIN or a PIN.
The update will be available in the ACE certification environment by Aug. 24, CBP said. “The updated DIS XML schema will be posted as soon as possible and a CSMS will be sent when it is available.”
