CBP to Offer Accelerated Payment for USMCA Drawback Claims in Late August

Accelerated payment (AP) will become available for all USMCA drawback claims late next month, according to a July 26 CBP CSMS message. The agency will issue a confirmation after the required programming is deployed in ACE, CBP said.

Timely, relevant coverage of court proceedings and agency rulings involving tariffs, classification, valuation, origin and antidumping and countervailing duties. "Once the requisite ACE programming is complete, claimants approved for AP may request AP for prospective eligible USMCA drawback claims provided all applicable requirements are met to include the requisite bonding," CBP said.

"To request AP for eligible unliquidated claims currently on file with CBP, claimants will need to contact the filing office directly and request the claim be returned to trade control, after which the claimant will be required to resubmit the claim with the AP request."
