CBP Names Entities Authorized for Continuing Education for Brokers

Sandler Travis & Rosenberg, the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America's Educational Institute, Global Trade Professionals Alliance/E-Merchants Trade Council, International Compliance Professionals Association and TrüTrade Solutions have been chosen by CBP to provide continuing education hours for customs brokers renewing their licenses.

The agency made the announcement at the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee meeting in California June 26.

It said it will work with the accredited providers to write policy, prepare their websites for launching, and standardize processes. The normal number of credit hours will not be required for the 2024-2027 cycle, since the courses aren't available yet. How many hours will be needed will be published in the Federal Register. The agency also posted the information at cbp.gov, and said any important announcements on continuing education will be sent through the CSMS.
