that all U.S. pinewood logs and lumber will need to comply with the new requirements by Feb. 1 or risk rejection or destruction at Chinese ports. The agency also said U.S. exporters should be careful not to confuse the new requirements with China’s recently issued notice on designated regulatory sites for imported logs. The new pinewood import rules require exports of the wood from affected countries to enter China through a “narrower list of ports,” USDA said.
