US to Add 8 Companies to Chinese Military Company List, Report Says

Other companies expected to be added to the list include Megvii, Dawning Information Industry, CloudWalk Technology, Xiamen Meiya Pico, Yitu Technology, Leon Technology and NetPosa Technologies, the report said. The list identifies companies that have ties to China’s military and bans U.S. people or companies from investing in them. All eight companies are already on the Commerce Department's Entity list, which imposes strict licensing requirements for U.S. exports.

Earlier this month, Treasury added Chinese technology company SenseTime to the list for similar reasons (see 2112100034). The White House, Treasury, Megvii, CloudWalk Technology, Xiamen Meiya Pico, Yitu Technology, and NetPosa Technologies didn’t respond to requests for comment. A DJI spokesperson declined to comment. Dawning Information Industry and Leon Technology couldn’t be reached.
