USTR Sent Counterproposal to House Working Group
U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer sent a written counter-proposal to the House working group the afternoon of Sept. 11, a House Ways & Means spokeswoman said. She declined to say how long and extensive it was.

The working group, which has nine members, including Ways & Means Chairman Richard Neal, had sent its proposals over the first week of the August recess (see 1907260056).
"We're disappointed that we haven't gotten the answers, and more progress made" during the August recess, Hoyer told International Trade Today during a Q&A with reporters in his office earlier in the day.
