  • Customs modernization vote. Algirdas Šemeta, EU Commissioner responsible for Customs, ushered in a new Union Customs Code, to be the Regulation on the rules and procedures for customs throughout the EU. EU Customs will now be a fully electronic and paperless operation. The new Code will streamline procedures for traders under the Authorized Economic Operators designation. (here)
  • Recalls. The European Commission issued its weekly list of measures to prevent or restrict the marketing or use of about 37 products in the EU, including certain clothing, toys, cosmetics, motor vehicles, and lighting equipment. (here)
