CBP Issues Reminder About Sept. 29 Deadline for ACE e-Manifest for Rail and Sea
Customs and Border Protection issued a reminder that the six-month transition has begun for ACE e-Manifest: Rail and Sea. As a result, effective September 29, 2012, ACE will be the only approved EDI for transmitting required advance rail and sea cargo information and ABI in-bond transactions to CBP, it said.

CBP said 322 trade partners had transitioned to ACE production by April 11, that 1,872 have completed certification testing, and 705 were currently doing testing. It said the following three steps need to be completed by September 29:
- Completion of programming changes,
- Contact with your Client Representative and completion of certification testing,
- Switch to production for ACE e-Manifest: Rail and Sea.
