CBP Administrative Messages, Web Postings, Etc.

CBP has posted to its Web site an updated version of its Trade Support Network (TSN) Plenary Session Agenda. According to CBP, the TSN Plenary Session is to be held December 11-13, 2006 in Arlington, VA. CBP has previously stated that it will update documents related to this session and post them to the Web site as revisions are made. 2. CBP Posts Summary of AESTIR Changes for October 24, 2006

CBP has posted a summary of changes to the Automated Export System (AES) Trade Interface Requirements (AESTIR) to its Web site, indicating that Version 1.0 was changed on October 24, 2006 as follows:

Appendix D - Export Port Codes.

The list of export port codes that can be reported in AES has been updated for September 2006 as follows:

Added codes. The following codes were added:

  1. 3 Williston Airport, North Dakota
  2. 4 Minot Airport, North Dakota
  3. 1 DHL-HUB Los Angeles, California

Changed codes. The following code has been changed:

  1. 6 Syracuse, New York - Added AIR as acceptable method of transportation

Appendix F - License and Exemption Type Codes and Reporting Guidelines.

The following has been removed from Appendix F:

C52 U.S. Persons in Libya (USPL) Part 740.19

3. Various Postings to CBP's Web Site

CBP has recently posted the following to its Web site:

New requirements for travelers (WHTI set to begin implementation in January 2007). CBP has posted to its Web site a document on the new requirements for travelers, which provides information on the new travel requirements that are set to become effective beginning January 2007 as a result of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative's (WHTI) proposed implementation. Trade community provides comments on ACE e-Manifest. CBP has posted to its Web site a document providing quotes from the trade community on Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) e-Manifest. Commissioner responds to question regarding an increase in corruption due to quick hiring. CBP has posted to its Web site CBP Commissioner Basham's response, as seen on C-SPAN's "Newsmakers" on October 29, 2006, to the question, "does the risk of corruption go up when you're trying to ramp up hiring as quickly as CBP is doing?" Among other things, Basham stated that he has insisted that the hiring process not increase such risks.
