The publication was prepared by the National Commodity Specialist Division and is a study of the NAFTA status of textile products. The ICP was first issued in May 1996, and has been revised in August 2000, January 2004, May 2005, and July 2006.
Textile Country of Origin Declaration Document No Longer Required
The revised ICP is updated to reflect the fact that a textile country of origin declaration is no longer required for textiles and apparel imported into the U.S.; however, the NAFTA certificate of origin is still required for NAFTA claims. (See ITT's Online Archives or 10/06/05 news, 05100605, for BP summary of CBP interim rule on country of origin of textile and apparel products, including information on the elimination of textile declarations.)
