Statement Added on Suspension of Trade in Beluga Sturgeon Caviar from Certain Countries

According to CBP sources, the only substantive change in this ICP is the addition of a new paragraph on page 13. The new paragraph states:

"It should be noted in late 2005, the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) suspended trade in beluga sturgeon caviar originating in the Caspian Sea basin countries (Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Turkmenistan) and the Black Sea basin countries (Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russia, Serbia & Montenegro, Turkey, and Ukraine)."

(See ITT's Online Archives or 10/31/05 and 10/03/05, 05103120 and 05100310, for BP summary of these FWS trade suspensions)

This revised ICP continues to contain information on the following (partial list):

What caviar is and types of caviar

The sturgeon

How caviar is graded and the preparation of caviar

Classification of Caviar and the classification of caviar substitutes

Required documentation

Invoicing requirements
