DHS states that it intends to terminate the regulatory provisions pertaining to the Land Border Carrier Initiative Program (LBCIP). Since the promulgation of the LBCIP regulations, CBP has developed a more comprehensive voluntary industry partnership known as the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT)-which builds upon the best practices of LBCIP while providing greater border and supply chain security with expanded benefits to approved participants. As such, CBP intends to focus its partnership efforts on the further development of C-TPAT.
