CBP Administrative Messages, Web Postings, Etc
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued an administrative message from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stating that its OASIS System was scheduled to be down for maintenance Saturday, April 9, 2005, between 5:00 a.m. EDT - 8:00 a.m. EDT, adding that prior notice (PN) confirmation numbers will not be transmitted back to filers during this downtime.

1. FDA Had OASIS, PNSI Downtime Scheduled for April 9 - 10, 2005
FDA also states that its Prior Notice System Interface (PNSI) was scheduled to be down on April 10, 2005 from 3:00 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. due to an FDA electrical power system upgrade, adding that PN submitted through ABI would not be affected by this PNSI downtime. 2. Weekly Quota Commodity Report as of April 11, 2005
CBP has issued its weekly quota commodity report as of April 11, 2005. This report includes tariff-rate quotas (TRQs) on various products such as beef, tuna, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa powder, tobacco, certain JFTA, NAFTA, SFTA, UAFTA and UCFTA TRQs, etc. This report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, CBTPA, NAFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA tariff preference levels (TPLs) for qualifying apparel and/or other textile articles, the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics, etc. (CBP's weekly quota commodity report, dated 04/11/05, available at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/import/textiles_and_quotas/commodity/)
3. CBP Press Release on APIS Final Rule
CBP has issued a press release on the publication of the Advanced Passenger Information System (APIS) final rule containing the requirement for all commercial air and sea carriers to submit advanced information on all passengers and crewmembers prior to entry or departure from the U.S. (See ITT's Online Archives or 04/08/05 news, 05040830 for BP summary of APIS final rule.)
