3. Rice Says EU Lifting of Arms Embargo Against China Would Send Wrong Signal
According to the Washington File, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has stated that a European Union (EU) decision to lift its arms embargo against China would "send the wrong signal about human rights." According to the article, the EU is considering lifting the embargo and instead applying a code of conduct on arms deals with China. 4. CPSC to Hold Public Meeting on Proposed Standard for the Flammability of Mattresses
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a notice announcing that it will hold a public meeting on March 3, 2005 in Bethesda, MD to receive oral comments concerning its proposed rule to establish a flammability standard for mattresses/sets. 5. ITC Proposes Extension of Certain Info Collections for Import Injury Investigations
The International Trade Commission (ITC) has issued a notice announcing that it is proposing a 3-year extension of its current "generic clearance" under which it can issue information collections for a series of import injury investigations that are required by the Tariff Act of 1930 and the Trade Act of 1974. This information collection relates to producer, importer, purchaser, and foreign producer questionnaires and certain institution notices. Comments must be received by April 1, 2005. 6. Correction to BP Summary on the EU's Suspension of Additional Duties Imposed on Selected U.S. Products in FSC/ETI Trade Dispute
BP's February 3, 2005 ITT summary 05020310 of the European Union's (EU's) suspension of additional customs duties imposed on certain U.S. origin products in connection with the EU's dispute over the U.S. FSC/ETI tax regime, had the following incorrect subtitle "Additional Duties Suspended Until January 1, 2006 or 60 Days After WTO Decision that JOBS Act Repeal is WTO-Incompatible."
The subtitle should have read "Additional Duties Suspended Until January 1, 2006, or 60 Days After WTO Decision that the JOBS Act is WTO- Incompatible." BP's Online Archives have been modified to reflect this correction.

8. Commerce Dept's Manufacturing Council to Hold Meeting
The International Trade Administration (ITA) has announced that the Commerce Department's Manufacturing Council will hold a public meeting on February 18, 2005 in Dearborn, MI. According to the ITA, this will be the third meeting of The Manufacturing Council and will include updates by the Council's three subcommittees. 9. DHS Renews Charter for TSP System Oversight Committee
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has renewed the charter for the Telecommunications Service Priority (TSP) System Oversight Committee. The TSP System Oversight Committee identifies and reviews any problems developing in the TSP System and recommends actions to correct them or prevent recurrence.
