2. FMCSA ANPR Seeks Comments on Regs for Brokers of Household Goods
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has issued an advance notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPR) which seeks comments on whether additional regulations for property brokers of household goods in interstate or foreign commerce are necessary and, if so, what these regulations should include. Written comments must be submitted on or before February 22, 2005. 3. EPA Proposed Rule Would Allocate Allowances for Certain Ozone Depleting Substances
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a proposed rule that would allocate essential use allowances for import and production of class I stratospheric ozone depleting substances (ODSs) for calendar year 2005. The proposed allocations total 1,524.58 metric tons of chlorofluorocarbons for use in metered dose inhalers. See notice for comment and other due dates. 4. CPSC Provisionally Accepts Settlement Agreement With ICM L.P.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a notice announcing that it has provisionally accepted a settlement agreement with ICM L.P. (ICM) over CPSC allegations that ICM manufactured and sold certain satin pajamas that failed to comply with the Standards for the Flammability of Children's Sleepwear. Pursuant to the settlement agreement, ICM will cease and desist from manufacturing, selling, importing, etc. the pajamas at issue. 5. FDA Extends Comment Period for Draft Guidance on Proposed Referral Program for Seafood Exports to the EU
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that it is extending the comment period to January 25, 2005 (from December 27, 2004) for its draft guidance entitled, "Proposed Referral Program from the FDA to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Seafood Inspection Program for the Certification of Live and Perishable Fish and Fishery Products for Export to the European Union and the European Free Trade Association."
