U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has announced the 2005 tariff-rate quotas (TRQs) for agricultural products described in HTS Chapter 99, Subchapter X, U.S. Notes 3 through 12 with respect to the U.S.-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (SFTA).

1. 2005 U.S.-Singapore FTA Agriculture TRQs Open January 3, 2005

According to CBP, these TRQs will open on Monday, January 3, 2005 at 12 noon E.S.T., or its equivalent in other time zones at the following low-duty quantities:

2. 2005 U.S.-Chile FTA Agriculture TRQs Open January 3, 2005

CBP has announced the 2005 TRQs for agricultural products provided for in HTS Chapter 99, Subchapter XI, U.S. Notes 3 through 17 with respect to the U.S.-Chile Free Trade Agreement (UCFTA or CFTA).

According to CBP, these TRQs will open on Monday, January 3, 2005 at 12 p.m. E.S.T., or its equivalent in other time zones at the following low-duty quantities:

3. 2005 U.S.-Jordan Free Trade Agreement TRQs Announced

CBP has announced the 2005 TRQs for the following products, as provided for in HTS Chapter 99, Subchapter IX, Notes 3 through 6 with respect to the U.S.-Jordan Free Trade Agreement (FTA):

milk/dairy
infant formula
mixed condiments
sugar/syrups
cotton and cotton yarn

According to CBP, these TRQs will open on Monday, January 3, 2005 at 12:00 E.S.T., or its equivalent in other time zones at the following low-duty quantities:

4. CBP Posts Weekly Electronic Reports of Entry and Clearance of Vessels

CBP has posted to its Web site, in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, the weekly electronic query reports for (i) CF 1400 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Entrances) of the Vessel Manifest System (VMS), organized by entrances, and (ii) CF 1401 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Clearances) of the VMS, organized by clearances. 5. U.S., Jordan Sign Agreement to Improve & Secure Trade Against Terrorism

CBP has issued a press release announcing that CBP Commissioner Bonner and the Director General of Jordan's Customs Department have signed a Customs Mutual Assistance Agreement (CMAA) designed to assist the two countries in improving the flow of trade and securing it against terrorism. According to CBP, the CMAA will allow CBP to exchange information, intelligence, and other assistance with Jordan.
