President Extends Duty-Free TRQs For Certain Agricultural Products from Israel Through December 31, 2008
President Bush has issued Proclamation 7826, which extends duty-free tariff-rate quotas (TRQs) for certain agricultural products from Israel that are entered, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after January 1, 2004 through the close of December 31, 2008.

On July 27, 2004, the U.S. and Israel signed an agreement reflecting their effort to address, through 2008, their continuing differences over the meaning of certain provisions in the U.S.-Israel Free Trade Agreement (FTA) governing access for U.S. agricultural products to Israel's market. Proclamation 7826 implements certain aspects of this Agreement with Israel.

Duty-Free TRQs for Certain Butter, Milk, Etc. Extended through December 31, 2008
Proclamation 7826 amends various U.S. Notes within Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Chapter 99, Subchapter VIII in order to provide from January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2008 duty-free treatment for the following products in aggregate quantities not to exceed the in-quota TRQ amounts provided below:
Butter, and fresh or sour cream containing over 45% by weight of butterfat, entered under HTS 9908.04.01 (U.S. Note 3):
