2. BIS Assesses Civil Penalty and Denies Export Privileges of Two Chinese Entities

The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has issued a notice announcing its findings that Xinjian Yi and Yu Yi, two Chinese entities, committed three violations of the of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) by conspiring to export to China certain thermal imaging cameras in 1998. As a result, BIS has assessed a civil penalty of $22,000.00 against each of the two respondents and imposed a ten-year denial of export privileges. 3. IRS to Hold Public Hearing on Proposed Rule on Entry of Taxable Fuel

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has announced that it will hold a public hearing on January 12, 2005 on the proposed regulations relating to the tax on the entry of taxable fuel into the U.S. (See ITT's Online Archives or 08/27/04 news, 04082710, for BP summary of this proposed rule and other IRS regulations relating to taxable fuel.) 4. BIS Corrects its Order Denying Export Privileges of Joseph Talyi

The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has issued a correction to its September 27, 2004 notice which renewed for 180 days the order denying the export privileges of Yaudat Mustafa Talyi (a.k.a. 5. BIS Removes Indian Space Research Organization from Entity List, Etc.

BIS has issued a notice removing the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) from the Department of Commerce Entity List. In addition, BIS has removed certain export license requirements for seven ISRO subsidiaries also listed on the Entity List. BIS also subsequently issued a correction to this notice.
