CBP Posts List of Companies/Persons Offering Air AMS Communication and Data Processing Services, Etc
U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP's) Office of Automated Commercial Systems (ACS) has posted a notice to its Web site containing (a) a list, as of March 4, 2004, of companies/persons offering Air Automated Manifest System (AMS) communication and data processing services to the trade community, and (b) the Air AMS Respondent Checklist, as follows:

CBP has listed the (1) Communication Network Providers who have the communication capability to transmit and receive AMS data; (2) software vendors who have developed software packages for handling Air AMS data, some of which include a communication interface. (These organizations presently have the capability to transmit and receive AMS data); and (3) service centers which presently have the capability to provide carriers with an interface with ACS.
CBP notes that each Air AMS participant, regardless of the computer hardware and/or software used, must successfully complete a period of intensive testing with CBP/AMS.
According to CBP, this list will be updated periodically and does not constitute any form of an endorsement by CBP.
