1. CBP Issues Information on Importation of Rough Diamonds
The document outlines procedures for the importation of rough diamonds from countries participating in the Kimberley Process and restrictions on those countries that are not. CBP explains that the Kimberley Process is an international initiative aimed at breaking the link between legitimate trade in diamonds and conflict diamonds and includes an international certification scheme for rough diamonds.
