Broker Power's List of 2004 Duty Rates for 70% or More Silk Knit Apparel

Broker Power has listed the 2004 general (column 1) duty rates for certain knit and crocheted apparel that is 70% or more by weight silk or silk waste and is subject to a silk category number (7XX).

This list is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of duty rates, nor is this a classification guide. Also, for ease of reference, whenever the term "silk" is used below it means "70% or more silk or silk waste."

Notes and Disclaimer for Knit or Crocheted Silk Apparel List

Clients should note that this listing excludes the general (column 1) duty rates for:

overalls, coveralls, and swimwear, among other apparel items, in cat 759;

articles imported as parts of ensembles, or imported as accessories (e.g., scarves, gloves) or as apparel or accessory parts; and

ski-suits and track suits (or articles imported as parts of ski-suits or track suits) in cats 734, 735, 738, 739, 747, and 748.

In addition, babies' garments containing 70% or more by weight silk or silk waste are listed as category-free and have a 0.9% duty rate.

As used in this listing, the term:

Knit includes knit or crocheted

Overcoats includes carcoats, capes, cloaks, and similar apparel

Anoraks includes ski-jackets, windbreakers, and similar apparel

This listing for 70% or more silk knit or crocheted apparel should not be used as a classification guide.
