State Department Offers Web Seminars and On-Line Tutorial Training for its D-TRADE Licensing System
The State Department's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) has announced that it will be providing live Web seminars and on-line training tutorials in order to familiarize registered industry users on the licensing process to be introduced with the advent of the D-TRADE licensing system in January 2004.

State Department sources state that D-TRADE will process DSP-5 forms (Application for Permanent Export of Defense Articles) and Technical Assistance Agreement (TAA) applications.
According to the State Department, the Web seminars will focus on providing information to users on filing DSP-5, TAAs, obtaining and using digital certificates, certificate types, certificate and user management, as well as obtaining status information on filed license applications. The training tutorials will focus on forms preparation, file submissions, digital certificates, and issues related to usage, but will not include DDTC policy or procedures.
DDTC to Offer Three Web Seminars During February 3-5, 2003
The DDTC states that it will be offering the following Web seminars:
Overview, Digital Certificates and User Management - February 3, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. EST
This seminar will provide information on overview, digital certificates, certificate types, user management, user roles, and filer submission types and is meant for empowered officials and corporate administrators.
Using DSP-5 and Filing - February 4, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. EST
This seminar will provide information on using the new electronic DSP 5 form, filing and accessing status information. This seminar will also provide a quick overview of digital certificates and system requirements and is meant for all users.
Filing TAAs - February 5, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. EST
This seminar will provide information on using the new electronic TAA form, filing, and accessing status information. This seminar will also provide a quick overview of digital certificates and system requirements and is meant for all users.
The DDTC notes that it will also be offering these Web seminars on January 20-22, 2004 and January 27-29, 2004, but that registration for those seminars is closed.
Web Seminar Registration Closes on January 19, 2004
According to DDTC, registration for these free Web seminars will close on January 19, 2004 and event seats will be allotted on a first registered basis. DDTC notes that Web seminars are restricted to 100 users per session.
DDTC also states that training is open only to companies who are currently registered with DDTC and registration for training must be done by a duly authorized company official.
