Textile and Apparel Import Statistics for the 12-Month Period Ending October 2003
The Commerce Department's Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA) has issued its October 2003 Textiles and Apparel Import Report, which includes statistics on general imports (both quota and non-quota) of cotton, wool, man-made fiber, silk blend, and non-cotton vegetable fiber textiles and apparel.

Compared with the 12 months ending October 2002 (November 2001 through October 2002), for the 12 months ending October 2003 (November 2002 through October 2003):
Textiles & Apparel - apparel imports increased 13.1%, textile imports increased 14.5%, total textile and apparel imports increased 13.8%, and textile and apparel imports from specific countries or regions changed as follows:

Yarns, Fabrics, and Made-Up Miscellaneous Articles - yarn imports decreased
- 0.6%, fabric imports increased 3.4%, and imports of made-up and miscellaneous articles increased 30.7%.
(OTEXA's Textiles and Apparel Import Report provides comparisons of import data for 12-month periods ending in October 2002 and 2003, year-to-date import data (i.e. October 2002 versus October 2003), etc. OTEXA's October 2003 Textile and Apparel Trade Balance Report only provides comparisons of year-to-date import data, but also includes year-to-date export and trade balance data. )
